P.A.F. Choderlos de Laclos

Pierre-Ambroise-François Choderlos de Laclos (1741–1803) initially served as an officer in the royal military. He later joined the Jacobins and worked, among other roles, as a speechwriter for Robespierre. He died in Taranto on September 5, 1803.
