Otto Sander

Otto Sander (1941–2013) was a German stage and screen actor as well as a voice, radio-drama and audiobook narrator. Born in Hanover, he studied theatre and literary studies, German studies and art history, and attended the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. Sander performed at venues including Berlin’s Freie Volksbühne and Schaubühne. He became widely known for films such as The Tin Drum, Das Boot and Wings of Desire. He also worked with directors including Margarethe von Trotta, Wim Wenders and Éric Rohmer, and lent his distinctive voice to numerous radio dramas and audiobook productions.
