Otto F. Kernberg, born in Vienna in 1928, is a psychoanalyst and psychiatrist. He was a professor of psychiatry at Cornell University, director of the Personality Disorders Institute at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and chairman of the International Psychoanalytical Association. He became particularly known for his work on severe personality disorders and psychoanalysis. The films “Einführung in die Psychoanalyse” (2012) and “Die Kernberg-Vorlesung” were made about his work.
