Oliver Breda

Oliver Breda was born in Singen am Hohentwiel in 1969. He studied physics in Konstanz from 1990 to 1996 and completed a diploma thesis in environmental analysis at the University of Hamburg between 1996 and 1999. From 1999 onward, he worked as a freelance travel and hiking guidebook author and tour guide, focusing on Spain and the Atlantic islands. Between 2000 and 2005, he spent six months each year working as a hiking guide in Madeira; from 2005, he mainly led tours in Madeira, the Cape Verde Islands and the Azores. Alongside this work, he ran a small publishing house that issued a book about the flowers of Madeira.
