Oleg Jurjew

Oleg Yuriev (1959–2018), born in Leningrad and deceased in Frankfurt am Main, was a Russian and German writer. He studied economic mathematics and systems theory and worked as a poet, novelist, playwright, essayist, and translator. He began writing in the early 1970s. His notable books include “Walks under the Hollow Moon,” “The New Golem, or The War of Children and Old Men,” “Twenty Facets of Russian Nature,” and “Russian Freight.” Yuriev translated Russian texts into German and also wrote in German himself. His works were translated into several languages, and his plays were staged in various countries.
