Olaf Kanter, born in Frankfurt am Main in 1962, is a journalist and author. After university and a traineeship at the newspaper Die Welt, he held several editorial positions there. He subsequently worked for the magazine mare, including as its chief copy editor. He later joined Spiegel Online, also known as Spiegel.de, where he held various senior editorial roles in the politics department and served as managing editor. For Ankerherz Verlag, he translated several biographies into German, including the life stories of legendary Alaskan crab fishermen.
