Oksana Sabuschko

Born in Ukraine in 1960, Oksana Sabuschko is a Ukrainian writer, essayist, and poet. She studied philosophy and worked at the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. Her work includes poetry, prose, essays, and scholarly studies. Her best-known books include the novels *Field Work in Ukrainian Sex* (1996; German edition 2006) and *The Museum of Abandoned Secrets* (2010), as well as the essay collections *Planet Wormwood* (2012) and *The Long Farewell to Fear* (2018). Her books have been translated into numerous languages. Sabuschko received, among other honors, the Global Commitment Foundation Poetry Prize (1997) and the Angelus Prize (2013). From 1995 to 2010, she served as vice president of the Ukrainian PEN Center.
