Ofer Waldman

Ofer Waldman was born in Jerusalem in 1979. One of the first musicians in the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, he moved to Berlin in 1999 and completed a diploma in orchestral performance as a horn player. He performed with, among others, the Berlin German Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Nuremberg Philharmonic, the New Israeli Opera and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. He later earned doctorates in history from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and in German studies from Freie Universität Berlin. From 2015 onward, he worked as a freelance author, primarily for German broadcasters. In 2021, he received the ARD German Radio Play Prize. His literary debut, the story collection *Singularkollektiv*, was published in 2023, followed in 2024 by *Gleichzeit*, a collection of letters written with Sasha Marianna Salzmann.
