Norbert Grob

Norbert Grob is an author, film historian, and media dramaturge. Born in Frankfurt am Main, he completed his doctorate in Berlin and his habilitation in Marburg. From 1997 to 2015, he was Professor of Media Dramaturgy in Mainz. Grob published essays, portraits, and articles in journals and books on film, as well as film-historical books as an author and editor, including works on Wim Wenders, Samuel Fuller, and Nicholas Ray; the Nouvelle Vague, road movies, minimalist cinema, westerns, film noir, New German Cinema, and Classical Hollywood. He also wrote more than twenty films for WDR television.
