Norbert Fischer

Norbert Fischer (born 1947) is a German philosopher. He studied philosophy, theology, and German philology at the universities of Mainz and Freiburg im Breisgau, where he also completed his doctorate and habilitation in philosophy. He taught at the universities of Mainz, Trier, and Paderborn, and from 1995 to 2013 held the Chair of Fundamental Philosophical Questions of Theology at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. His research focuses include Plato, Augustine, Kant, Heidegger, and Levinas, as well as metaphysics, philosophical theology, and the philosophy of religion. His publications include Kants Metaphysik und Religionsphilosophie (2004) and Kants Grundlegung einer kritischen Metaphysik (2010).
