Nora Markard

Born in 1978, Nora Markard is a German jurist. She studied law in Berlin and Paris, earned an MA in International Peace and Security from King’s College London, and received her doctorate from Humboldt University of Berlin in 2011. Her academic career included work as a research associate at the University of Bremen and a professorship at the University of Münster, where she held a chair in Public International Law and International Human Rights Protection. Her fields of research include international law, constitutional law, and legal gender studies. Markard was among the co-founders of the Society for Civil Rights (Gesellschaft für Freiheitsrechte).
