Nicholas Shakespeare

Nicholas Shakespeare, born in 1957 in Worcester, England, is a British writer. The son of a diplomat, he grew up in Asia and Latin America. He has published several novels, including *Sturm* and *Der Obrist und die Tänzerin*, the latter adapted for film under the direction of John Malkovich. Shakespeare also wrote a biography of the writer Bruce Chatwin. His other publications include the nonfiction book *Priscilla. Von Liebe und Überleben in stürmischen Zeiten* and the short-story collection *Geschichten von anderswo*.
