Navid Kermani

Navid Kermani, born in Siegen in 1967, is a German-Iranian writer, publicist and habilitated scholar of Oriental studies. He also worked as a dramaturg at several German theaters. His literary and essayistic work has received numerous awards, including the Kleist Prize, the Joseph Breitbach Prize, the Hölderlin Prize, the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade, the State Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Thomas Mann Prize.
