Napoleon Hill (1883–1970) was an American author, journalist, and lecturer. He began working for newspapers as a teenager and later devoted himself to studying the principles of success. At the suggestion of industrialist Andrew Carnegie, Hill spent more than two decades conducting interviews and research into the lives of successful people. He published his findings in works including The Law of Success and Think and Grow Rich (1937), his best-known book. Hill also wrote extensively on personal development and lectured on what he called the science of success.
