Nadifa Mohamed was born in 1981 in Hargeisa. She moved to London with her family as a child and studied history and politics at Oxford. Her debut novel, “Black Mamba Boy,” was published in 2010, longlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction and shortlisted for several other literary awards; it won the Betty Trask Award. Mohamed was selected by the literary magazine “Granta” as one of its “Best of Young British Novelists.” Her other novels include “The Orchard of Lost Souls.”
