Nadia Ghulam

Nadia Ghulam was born in Kabul in 1985. As a child, she was seriously injured in Afghanistan and underwent numerous operations. After losing her brother, she disguised herself as a boy under Taliban rule in order to support her family. She recounts this experience in her autobiographical book *The Secret of My Turban*.
