Mona Horncastle

Mona Horncastle (born 1973) studied philosophy and art history in Bamberg and holds a doctorate in art history. From 2005 to 2018, she was the publisher of Horncastle Verlag. In 2013, she founded a nonprofit organization for educational projects, which she headed until 2022. From 2016 onward, she worked as a freelance author and curator. She wrote biographies, art catalogues, and exhibition texts, including books on Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky and Josephine Baker. The exhibition “Josephine Baker – Icon in Motion,” which she helped curate, was shown at Berlin’s Neue Nationalgalerie in 2024.
