Miroslav Krleza

Miroslav Krleža (1893–1981) was a writer and essayist born in Zagreb. He began his extensive literary and essayistic work under the impact of the First World War. Through his literary and cultural-critical writings, he shaped the cultural life of former Yugoslavia and was known as an erudite and outspoken humanist.
