Mike Dringendberg

Mike Dringenberg was born in France in 1965 and has German roots. He published his first comics in the American independent scene. He became particularly known for his work on the early chapters of Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman,” helping shape the visual appearance of its characters. With writer Grant Morrison, he told the backstory of Flex Mentallo in the superhero series “Doom Patrol.” Dringenberg also contributed artwork to the trading card games “Magic: The Gathering” and “Vampire: The Eternal Struggle.” As an illustrator, he created CD booklets and book covers, including covers for works by J. R. R. Tolkien.
