Michael Wulzinger, born in Dortmund in 1965, studied history, political science and German studies in Freiburg and Seville. After working for the newspapers Rheinpfalz and Badische Zeitung, he joined Der Spiegel’s sports department in 1997. He headed the sports desk from 2009 to 2016 and worked exclusively on the Football Leaks project until summer 2019.
