Michael von Albrecht (born 1933) is a German classical philologist. He studied music, classical philology and Indology in Stuttgart, Tübingen and Paris. After earning his doctorate in 1959 and his habilitation in 1963, he was professor of classical philology at Heidelberg University from 1964 to 1998 and a visiting professor in Amsterdam and the United States. He translated works by Ovid and Catull, among others. His honors include the Russian-German Cultural Prize (1991), an honorary doctorate from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1998), the Praemium Classicum Clavarense (2000) and the Johann Heinrich Voss Prize for Translation (2004).
