Michael Siebler

Michael Siebler studied classical archaeology and earned a doctorate on the Roman god Mars Ultor. After completing his doctorate, he took part in excavations, including those in Olympia, and worked at the German Archaeological Institute in Damascus. He subsequently served as a research associate at the Institute of Classical Archaeology at the University of Mainz and was a longtime editor in the features section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Since 1990, he has published several works on the archaeology and history of Troy and Olympia.
