Michael Rotschopf, born in 1969 in Lienz, Austria, trained in acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. During his training, he was engaged by Vienna’s Burgtheater, where he remained a member of the ensemble for five years. He subsequently worked at theatres in Germany and Austria, including in productions directed by Peter Stein, and appeared in numerous film and television productions. His screen credits include the crime series »Stolberg«, »SOKO Leipzig« and »KDD – Kriminaldauerdienst«, as well as the feature film »Mahler auf der Couch«. In 1996, he received the O. E. Hasse Prize from the Academy of Arts in Berlin. He also worked as a speaker in radio plays, audiobooks and concerts.
