Michael Lehmann

Michael Lehmann (born 1945 in Lübeck) studied architecture and urban planning at RWTH Aachen University, among others under Gottfried Böhm and Peter Zlonicky. After qualifying as a Diplom-Ingenieur, he initially worked as an architect and urban planner, most recently as an urban-planning adviser for the Umlandverband Frankfurt am Main. Since 2002, he has worked as a translator of English-language literature and as an editor. His projects include new editions and rediscoveries of older works, including Jean Paul’s *Flegeljahre* (2013), as well as literature by European Jewish émigrés in the United States. Lehmann was a co-founder of the German John Fowles Society.
