Michael Korth

Michael Korth is a German author and musician. He studied ethnomusicology, historically informed performance practice, and singing at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. Medieval music was one of his main areas of expertise, and he also edited works by major poet-singers. His books, stage works, and recordings address a broad range of cultural and historical subjects, including »Das Lexikon der verrückten Dichter und Denker«, »Walther von der Vogelweide«, and »Oswald von Wolkenstein«. His works have been translated into 16 languages. With the ensemble Bären Gässlin, he performed early music across Europe. In 2016, he received the Golden Decoration of Honour of the state of Lower Austria.
