Konstantin Wecker (born 1947 in Munich) is a poet, singer-songwriter, musician, composer and author. He studied music, philosophy and psychology. His 1977 record »Genug ist nicht genug«, which included the ballad »Willy«, brought him to the attention of a wider audience. His books include »Uferlos«, »Der Klang der ungespielten Töne« and the autobiography »Die Kunst des Scheiterns«. Wecker has received, among other honors, the Erich Fromm Prize (2007), the Honorary Prize of the Bavarian Cabaret Prize (2013), the Erich Mühsam Prize (2016), the German Cabaret Prize’s Honorary Prize of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate (2017), the Bavarian State Prize for Music – Special Prize (2017), the Göttingen Peace Prize (2018) and the Hermann Sinsheimer Prize for Literature (2021).
