Michael Dowling

Michael Dowling was born in New York in 1958. He studied at the University of Texas at Austin and Harvard University, earning a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Science, and a doctorate in business administration. His early professional experience included work as a research scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Laxenburg, Austria, and as a research analyst at McKinsey & Company in Düsseldorf. After completing his doctorate, he taught at the University of Georgia, first as an assistant professor and later as an associate professor. In 1996, he was appointed to the chair of innovation and technology management at the University of Regensburg.
