Michael Dietz was born in 1976 in Grünstadt, Germany. He studied information science and German at Saarland University, then worked for Saarländischer Rundfunk and later for Westdeutscher Rundfunk, including more than 15 years as a presenter at 1Live. He has worked as a journalist, television presenter and travel journalist. In 2018, he co-founded the travel podcast “Reisen Reisen” with Jochen Schliemann. During his time at 1Live, he interviewed figures including Angela Merkel and Paris Hilton.
