Michael Bienert, born in 1964, is a German author and journalist. He has published numerous books on the literary and cultural history of Berlin and Potsdam and, since 1990, led themed literary walking tours in Berlin. His works include “Schiller in Potsdam 1804,” “Die Entdeckung Berlins,” “Das Kammergericht in Berlin,” and the books “Kästners Berlin,” “E. T. A. Hoffmanns Berlin,” “Döblins Berlin,” and “Brechts Berlin.” He also edited the collection of letters “Irmgard Keun: Man lebt von einem Tag zum andern. Briefe 1935–1948.”
