Matteo Melchiorre, born in 1981, studied history at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice. He headed the library of the Museum of Castelfranco Veneto and published several nonfiction books about mountains and forests. His first novel, The Last Cimamonte, was published by the Turin-based publisher Einaudi in 2022. The book was nominated for the Premio Strega and received several awards.
