Mary Ruefle, born in 1952 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, is an American poet and essayist. In 2020, she was shortlisted for the Pulitzer Prize, and one of her poetry collections was nominated for the National Book Award for Poetry. Her honors include the Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and a Guggenheim Fellowship. Mein Privatbesitz was her first publication in German.
