Martina Hefter

Martina Hefter (born 1965 in Pfronten, Allgäu) is a writer and performance artist. She studied at the German Institute for Literature in Leipzig. Her work encompasses poetry, scenic writing and novels; she has repeatedly adapted texts for performances in collaboration with other artists. Her publications include the poetry collections “Es könnte auch schön werden” and “In die Wälder gehen, Holz für ein Bett klauen”, as well as the novel “Hey guten Morgen, wie geht es dir?”. The novel received the 2024 German Book Prize and the European Prix Grand Continent. Hefter has also been awarded, among others, the Grand Prize of the German Literature Fund, the Wiesbaden Literature Prize and the Meran Poetry Prize.
