Martin Mulsow

Martin Mulsow, born in 1959, studied philosophy, German studies and history in Tübingen, Berlin and Munich. He received his doctorate in 1991 and completed his habilitation in 2000. His academic career included a professorship in history at Rutgers University and fellowships at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin. At the University of Erfurt, he held a professorship in the knowledge cultures of early modern Europe and directed the Gotha Research Centre. Mulsow’s research focuses on early modern scholarship and intellectual history. His distinctions include the Akademiepreis, the Thuringian Research Prize and the Anna Krüger Prize.
