Martin Hartmann

Martin Hartmann (born 1968) is a philosopher who served as a professor of practical philosophy at the University of Lucerne. He studied philosophy, comparative literature and sociology at the University of Konstanz, the London School of Economics and the Free University of Berlin. He received his doctorate in 2001 and completed his habilitation in 2009 with a study on a theory of trust. His book *Trust: The Invisible Power* was named Science Book of the Year in 2021.
