Markus Verbeet

Markus Verbeet (born 1974) studied law and political science at the universities of Bonn, Leipzig and Munich, as well as at the Institut d’études politiques in Paris. Alongside his studies, he completed journalistic training at the Institute for the Advancement of Young Journalists. Verbeet holds a doctorate in law and began working for Der Spiegel in 2003. From 2012, he was part of the leadership of the publication’s Germany desk, later serving as its head or deputy head.
