Markus Tauschek

Markus Tauschek, Dr. phil., studied folklore, Romance studies and modern German literature in Freiburg im Breisgau and Eichstätt. He received his doctorate in cultural anthropology and European ethnology from the University of Göttingen in 2009. His academic career includes a professorship at the University of Freiburg’s Institute of Cultural Anthropology and European Ethnology, where he also served as managing director, as well as the directorship of the Centre for Popular Culture and Music. His research focuses on cultural heritage, historical culture, popular culture, competition and rivalry.
