Markus Roduner

Markus Roduner, born in Switzerland in 1967, studied Slavic and Baltic studies as well as historical-comparative linguistics in Bern. He began translating Lithuanian and Latvian literature into German in 2002. His translations include Alvydas Šlepikas’s novel “My Name Is Marytė,” Valdas Papievis’s “Odile or the Solitude of Airports,” and Jaroslav Melnik’s “The Wide Space.” Šlepikas and Roduner received the 2018 Förderpreis zum Georg-Dehio-Buchpreis for the translation of “My Name Is Marytė.” Roduner also worked as an editor and publisher.
