Markus Brauckmann (born 1968) studied in Berlin and the United States. A political scientist by training, he worked for RTL and ProSieben and was involved in several German federal election campaigns. As a director and screenwriter, he made award-winning television documentaries. In 2016, he received the Romy award for a film about Niki Lauda. In 2022, he co-authored the book »München 72: Ein deutscher Sommer« with Gregor Schöllgen.
