Marko Simsa

Marko Simsa is a German author and producer of concert and theatre programmes for children and families. He produced his first theatre piece in 1985, followed in 1988 by his first music production, “Nachtmusik und Zauberflöte – Mozart für Kinder” (“Night Music and The Magic Flute – Mozart for Children”). Under the motto “Classical Music for Children,” he developed programmes that introduce classical music in an engaging, participatory way. His productions were presented at venues including the Salzburg Festival, the Musikverein in Vienna and the Philharmonie Essen. From 1999 onward, Simsa also published numerous children’s books with a musical focus. His books have been translated into twelve languages and received several awards. His honours include the German Record Critics’ Award and two gold records.
