Marion Wisinger

Marion Wisinger, born in Vienna in 1965, is a historian. She studied history, political science and Romance studies in Vienna. During her career, she served, among other roles, as academic director of the Austrian Society for Political Education and as secretary general of the Austrian League for Human Rights. Her research and writing have focused on Austrian remembrance culture and on the history of violence in children’s homes. She has published studies, essays, historical contributions and narrative literature on these subjects. She also coordinated the Wilhelminenberg Commission and worked as a representative of the Writers at Risk Committee of the Austrian PEN Club.
