Mario Schmidt

Mario Schmidt (Dr. phil.), born in 1986, is an ethnologist. He worked at the University of Cologne’s collaborative research centre “Future Rural Africa” and, from 2019, led the DFG project “The Quality of Quantity.” Using ethnographic and experimental economic methods, the project examined how cultural factors influence the perception and classification of quantities and money in western Kenya.
