Marie-Luise Angerer (1958–2024) was a German media scholar. She was Professor of Media Theory and Media Studies at the University of Potsdam and previously taught Media and Cultural Studies and Gender Studies at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne from 2000 to 2015. In Potsdam, she served as managing director of the Brandenburg Centre for Media Studies (ZeM) and spokesperson for the research college “Sensing: The Knowledge of Sensitive Media.” Her research focused on affect, media technologies, and neuroscientific reformulations of desire and sexuality. Her publications include Vom Begehren nach dem Affekt (2007), Timing of Affect (2014), and Affektökologie (2017).
