Maria Wissmann

Maria Wissmann was born in Berlin in 1961 and studied graphic design at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin. From 1987 onward, she worked as a freelance graphic artist and illustrated numerous children’s, young adult, and school books. She also created two picture stories for the ZDF children’s television series “Siebenstein.” In 1990, she received an award in the Stiftung Buchkunst competition “The Most Beautiful German Books.” Wissmann had enjoyed painting, drawing, and handicrafts since childhood, later turning these interests into her profession.
