Margriet de Moor, born in 1941 in Noordwijk, is a Dutch writer. She studied piano and singing in The Hague and initially pursued a career as a singer before studying art history in Amsterdam. She made her literary debut in 1988 with the short-story collection “Rückenansicht.” Her first novel, “Erst grau dann weiß dann blau,” was published in 1991 and received the AKO Literatuurprijs. Her other works include the story collection “Doppelportrait” and the novels “The Painter and the Girl,” “Mélodie d'amour,” “Sleepless Night,” and “Of Birds and People.” Her novels and stories have been translated into numerous languages.
