Margot Fischer

Margot Fischer was an Anglicist, nutrition scientist, author, editor and translator. She worked for many years in research at Vienna General Hospital and later worked in the restaurant business, including as the head of a restaurant specializing in New Orleans cuisine. She published scholarly and nutrition-related articles as well as numerous cookbooks and volumes in the “Kleine gourmandisen” series with Mandelbaum Verlag. Her best-known works include “Wilde Genüsse – Enzyklopädie und Kochbuch der essbaren Wildpflanzen,” “Bayou – Kochen in Louisiana” and “Kochen in der Kiste.” She also translated Claudia Roden’s “The Book of Jewish Food” and Elizabeth David’s “French Provincial Cooking” into German.
