Margit Reiter

Margit Reiter (born 1963) is a historian specializing in contemporary European history. Her academic career included a lectureship in contemporary history at the University of Vienna and a professorship in contemporary European history at the University of Salzburg. She was a fellow at the Center for Holocaust Studies at the Institute of Contemporary History in Munich. In 2006, she received the Bruno Kreisky Recognition Award for Political Books. Her publications include “Unter Antisemitismus-Verdacht. Die österreichische Linke und Israel nach der Shoah” (2001), “Die Generation danach. Der Nationalsozialismus im Familiengedächtnis” (2006; revised edition 2018), and “Europa und der 11. September 2001” (co-edited, 2011).
