Marente de Moor

Marente de Moor, born in The Hague in 1972, is a Dutch writer. After studying Slavic languages and literature, she lived in Saint Petersburg for several years and worked as a correspondent for Dutch and Russian media. Her novel “The Dutch Virgin” (2011) won the AKO Literature Prize and the European Union Prize for Literature. Her other novels include “From the Light” (2019) and “Phon” (2021). For “Phon”, she received the Jan Wolkers Prize and the Ferdinand Bordewijk Prize. Her work has been translated into more than fifteen languages.
