Manfred Tietz

Manfred Tietz taught Romance philology at Ruhr University Bochum. His research focuses on Spanish literature and culture of the Baroque and Enlightenment, as well as the relationship between literature and religion in European modernity. From 1996 to 2014, he directed the Anglo-German Calderón Colloquia and co-edited the “Concordancia Calderoniana.” Other studies by him examine the influence of Spain’s Golden Age theatre on the literary and cultural world of German-speaking countries.
