Manfred Bofinger

Manfred Bofinger (1941–2006) was a German graphic artist, caricaturist, cartoonist, and illustrator. After training as a typesetter, he worked as a typographer for the satirical magazine Eulenspiegel from 1961 to 1968. He then worked as a freelance graphic artist, cartoonist, and book illustrator, contributing regularly to the children’s magazine Frösi, among others. Bofinger illustrated more than 300 books, including many for children, and also created his own picture stories. In 1981, he received the Art Prize of the German Democratic Republic.
