Malou Berlin

Malou Berlin, born in 1961 in Baden-Württemberg, worked as a bicycle mechanic in Berlin during the 1980s and early 1990s. She published short stories in anthologies and newspapers, as well as two novels, including *Zeit bis Mitternacht* (2006, Querverlag). From 2006 to 2009, she studied film dramaturgy and screenwriting at Filmarche Berlin. Her documentary *Nach dem Brand* received the Diversity Award of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and was nominated for the Grimme Prize and the Prix Europa. She subsequently worked, among other things, as a writer and filmmaker.
